*** WARNING SPOILER ALERT FOR THIS BOOK**  An Intro to Book Talks...    So this is one of the first book talks I'm doing so (the second only to The Selection ) I am still trying to figure this out so BEAR WITH ME EVERBODY!  Feel free to comment on your thoughts too and start up a conversation about the books, this is what this post is for. When you comment and share your ideas, I get to go back and add to this post.  Why we read this book    So if any of my classmates are reading this (which I'm sure there maybe one or two), then you already know about the Socrates Semiare we're doing. So for class, we read this book and talked about it. Our teacher asked who we think the Stranger could be. I instantly blurt out Jack Frost and before I can give out all my reasoning, I am interrupted (what a surprise).  Anyway, I end up being right. That's a surprise.    So here's one question I have for my classmates: Did you think that idea was stupid? One friend told

Page Count: 32 pages  Published: October 28, 1986  My Rating: 4 stars  Genre: Children's Picture Books  Amazon link for The Stranger   When Farmer Bailey hits a man while driving his truck, he meets the Stranger. The Stranger is a man with no memory, no identification so of course, Farmer Bailey has no choice but to take him in. Then, strange things start happening around the farm. So here's my question for you: who is the Stranger?   The Stranger was a good story. Even though this book was meant for children, I can honestly say that most of my reading class liked this book. It was fun to figure out who the Stranger could be and though most of my class couldn't get it, I enjoyed the mystery. Happy Holloween everyone!

End of Year 2019 Book Tag

Can you believe it's time for this post? Only two months ago I was posting the Mid-year Freakout Tag. Well, let's get into this before I make a long intro! Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?  I don't like to put books down so I don't have any have too many books to list. If I'm reading a book I bought and I don't like then I'll stick it out until the end.   So I recently finished A Tale of Magic  by Chris Colfer. I am still on a hangover. So I finished this book late Thursday night I started Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, but I didn't get very far before deciding I wanted to read a different book. I read 20 pages of Mistress of All Evil by Serena Valentino but I couldn't focus so I put it down. On Saturday, I started The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes  by Arthur Conan Doyle, but it's written it's old English so I couldn't understand/focus on it much. And this was all because I was in a book hangove

Who will win? The elite has been narrowed down, but it seems to be narrowing itself out. With Eadlyns family problems, it seems to get harder and harder to focus on the Selected men. When new problems arise, Eadlyn finds that there is no choice but to end with a ring on her finger.   I WAS ROOTING FOR HALE! That didn't happen (WE ALL SAW IT COMING). But noooo, everything I predict goes wrong. I love The Selection, but the reason I didn't give this book five stars is because of the ending. She only even went on two dates with this guy anyway! Well, I respect the authors writing, it just felt like more insta-love than anything else. In the first three Selection books, we got to see more of America's and Maxon's relationship evolve. In this book, Eadlyn just seemed to look at thi

*** WARNING SPOILER ALERT FOR ALL 5 BOOKS***  An Intro to Book Talks...    So this is the first book talk I'm doing so bear with me while I figure this all out. Feel free to comment on your thoughts too and start up a conversation about the books. This is what this post is for after all. Americas Selection:  Maxon or Aspen?    Team Maxon all the way!!! He's so sweet and nice! You can really feel the bond between him and America. I just never felt that way with Aspen.  Celeste    Good or bad? What do you think? I loved Celeste by the end of these books. She's like the villain of the story but then you find out about her backstory and then you just love them so much because the backstory is so sad! That reminds me of the Evil Queen from  The Land of Stories  by Chris Colfer.  The Northern Rebels    Who was surprised that America's dad was a NORTHERN REBLE? *Raises hand*. I can't believe it! He is so nice and loving though and I love that plo

She's been told her parents' Selection was like a perfect fairytale. Now, it's Princess Eadlyns turn for a Selection. But that's not what she wants. As the first female heir of Illa, she's determined to rule alone. That way no one can be more powerful than her. Eadlyn already has three brothers, and now, thirty-five more will come to live with her, and they'll all be competing for her heart, a heart that could never be won.    From annoying "friends" and family heartaches you're sure to get laughs (and cries). While I do like Eadlyn's personality shines through, from the beginning of the book, I just wish I have gotten to see more of America. Three books is a hard bond to break. Anyway, just like in the other three books, Kiera

Now, on the night of Prince Nikols' birthday, a mermaid saves him when he falls into the water. A few days later, a girl with a remarkable resemblance to Anna shows up on the shores of Havensted. Soon, both girls capture the eyes- and hearts, of two dashing princes. But both girls harbor a deep and dangerous secret that just may be the death of each other. But can Evie find a way to help her new friend stay on land- and keep her on two feet before its too late?   This book has everything I love: magic, romance, and secrets! I'll admit that it got off to a slow start, but, but the deeper into the book, the better it got. I loved that there were flashbacks to four years ago when Anna drowned. Those parts really helped us uncover what really happened. It didn't really have anyt
