Image
I have reviewed so many amazing books this month a loved most of them. So let's not waste to much time here and get right into the wrap-up.   Septimus Heap: Magyk by Angie Sage Rating: 1 star Series: Septimus Heap  (book 1) Before picking this book up, I heard such good things about it. This was such a letdown. Click here for my review! Flashback Four: The Lincon Project by Dan Gutman Rating: 4 stars Series: Flashback Four  (book 1) I wouldn't have normally picked this book up, but we were on a vacation to Gettysburg where there was a book store in the museum. This was the only book that sparked my interest even a little and I'm so glad I read it. Click here for my review! A Castle in the Clouds (ARC) by Kirsten Gier  Rating: 5 stars This was my first ARC book and it did not let me down! This is definitely my favorite mystery book. Click here for my review! Matched  by Ally Condie   Rating: 3 stars Series: Dystopian I re

Best Books of 2019

Image
2019 has been a great year with some great books so here are my favorite books I have read 2019. Most of these books have reviews on my blog and some reviews are coming soon, but all five books are definitely worth reading.  5. The Book Theif  by Markus Zusak   Death have never been so busy. Liesel Meminger had just lost her brother and moved to a new town. At the peak of Nazi Germany, it is not good to have secrets. Dangerous secrets that could get a man killed.  At the same time, Liesel makes a growing collection of stolen books.  4. The Selection  by Kiera Cass   I have a review of each book in the series. Click  here  for a review of The Selection  and  here  for the page I made for it.  3. Onyx & Ivory by Mindee Arnett    Once again, I have a review for this book already up on my blog. To view, it clicks  here. 2. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard    This is probably the best YA book out there and just like the last two books, I already h

Matched by Ally Condie

Page Count: 369 (hardcover) Published: November 30, 2010 My Rating: 3 stars  Genre: Dystopian, Romance Series: Matched Trilogy book 1 Amazon link for Matched   Cassia has always trusted the Society's rules. When she's Matched with Xander - her best friend- she is overjoyed. That is until another face flashed on the screen. Now, she is faced with the difficult choice between Xander and Ky. Between the life she's always known and the choice to forge her own path.    To me the book was ok. I read it with a group of friends and one really loved it. The other one only liked the dystopian part of the book. Most of the book was good it was just really  slow and boring in some parts. The ending chapter could have been better too. It's not that I don't like the ending. It was just really boring.    When we first chose the book at the school library, we couldn't stop laughing. On the very first page with the list of praise and reviews one line said:

12 Days of Christmas Book Tag

Image
Happy Holidays everyone! I first found this book tag on   Laurens Bookshelf . It was originally created by  Lizzie Loves Books  though. How the tag works are there are 12 questions and each one corresponds with a different day of Christmas. Well, let's get started. On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: A Partridge in a Pear Tree The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favorite stand-alone?     The Book Thief by Markus Zusak would be my pick for this question. I recently finished this book and it was amazing. It was such an impactful story and I cried for half of it. I normally don't like historical fiction. On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: Two Turtle Doves Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing? America and Maxon from The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I loved how their love for each other grew throughout the book. On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me

2020 Plans

With the new year will come many more posts. I have new post series that I am starting so I'm just going to layout the format here for you. Lets Book Talk    I know I already do book talks now but I'm going to start making them more regular. I will post them on the first Friday of every month. The book talk of that month will go along with the Book of the Month (but I'll get to that in a bit).    What my book talks basically are is me talking about everything that happened in the book so there are spoilers. If you have something to share about the book, then you are encouraged to talk about it in the comment below and spark a discussion. I am also planning to respond to those comments and keep the conversation going.    There is a page for the book talks I do so you can click  here  to see that.  Recommendations    If you need book recommendations I have a page for that! There's just a short survey (two questions) that you have to take and then I'

A Castle in the Clouds by Kerstin Gier (ARC Review)

Image
Sophie Sparks is a 17-year-old high school dropout. She works as an intern at A Castle in the Clouds, a European hotel. Between a budding romance and dark secrets, Sophie may be more helpful than she thought. As majestic as the building is, there are secrets that the owners hold. And some guests aren't who they say they are...(dun, dun, dunnnn). I did not see that ending coming! I would have never guessed the bad guys were who they were. The mystery was so well crafted and I never knew who the bad guys were until they were foreshadowed a page before being revealed. The author has such a way of creating suspense and this book kept me on the edge of my seat! And Sophie's romance with two boys kinda reminded me of America with Maxon and Aspen from The Selection  series by Kiera Cass. They fight like Aspen and Maxon and one of them even has the charm of Maxon. It's obvious from the beginning who Sophie will choose in the end. I highly recommend reading this book. It is my new
