- Genive- The back-up singer of Heart Grenade is scared to even go on stage. But the thought of even going on stage is enough to make her sick to her stomach. And now she has to perform not only in front of her whole school but on live television too.
- Tess- Tess is the back-up singer of Heart Grenade. But when she shows up she finds that her enemy has shown up in the same dress- and with the same date.
- Ryan- He's only at the dance because he's crushing on his best friend and he has the hope of possibly getting out of the friend zone.
- Ellie- She's a straight-A student and possibly the biggest book worm at her school. But she soon finds tonight, she'll be pranked in the cruelest way possible.
- Ashlyn- As the most popular girl in school, there's no way she can miss the dance. But now, she's grounded and stuck babysitting on the most important night of her life.

So this book was a reread for me. I first read this book when I was in 6th grade maybe about two years ago. I chose to read this book because I was in a hangover form A Tale of Magic by Chris Colfer. I couldn't focus on any new books so I just picked this one off the shelf.
I do like that the story rotates through each character's POV. My favorite would probably be Carmens.
One thing that I didn't like though was some of the characters' choices were a little strange. Some people would be set on one thing and then the next thing you know another character gives a weak argument and the other changes their mind.
But in all, I enjoyed reading this book and think it would be a great book for younger fans of contemporary.
