5 Mystery Books That'll Keep You Guessing

I don't know about you, but fall is the perfect time to dive into a good mystery. Especially October gives me all the right vibes to crack a good case. But there are so many mysteries to chose from so I narrowed this list down to five of my favorites.

Greystone Secrets #1: The Strangers: Haddix, Margaret Peterson, Lambelet, Anne: 9780062838377: Amazon.com: Books

5. The Strangers by Marget Peterson Haddix

I can truly say that I never saw this ending coming. Never. Never in a million years. I would never have expected any of this to happen. While it wasn't my favorite book, The Strangers sure kept me in the dark. It even left off with a huge cliff hanger.
When Chess, Emma, and Finn find out about kids who got kidnapped, their lives become very uneasy. These weren't just any kids though. They had the same birthday, name, and even look like the Greystone kids. Shortly after, their mother disappears. It's up to the Greystone kids to find their mother or they may never see her again.

All the Wrong Questions: Question 1: Also Published as "Who Could That Be at This Hour?" by Lemony Snicket, Seth, Paperback | Barnes & Noble®

4. All the Wrong Questions by Lemony Snicket

II feel like Lemony Snicket is a classic when it comes to mystery authors. Not only is All the Wrong Questions an intriguing series but A Series of Unfortunate Events was great!
Lemony Snicket is a detective and his newest case has stumped him. After being recruited to steal back a priceless object, Lemony finds that things aren't all its cracked up to be. His employer may turn out to be a bad guy hiding and even bigger mystery. And to make it worse, Lemony has been asking all the wrong questions.

Amazon.com: A Castle in the Clouds (9781250300195): Gier, Kerstin, Fursland, Romy: Books

3. A Castle on the Clouds by Kirstein Gier

I absolutely loved this book! It was so intriguing and had such a cute romance!
Sophie works at A Castle in the Clouds, a European hotel. Between a budding romance and dark secrets, Sophie may be more helpful than she thought. As majestic as the building is, there are secrets that the owners hold. And some guests aren't who they say they are.

Loot by Jude Watson | Scholastic

2. Loot by Jude Watson

The next book I have to talk about is Loot. Loot was such a fun crime novel about stolen jewels and curses!
March and his twin sister are cursed to die before their 13th birthday. The only was to break the curse is to gather 7 moonstones by the night of the blue moon. Jules and March recruit their new friends Izzy and Darius to help them. If they're going to survive, they're going to need to pull a heist. And their loot is worth seven million dollars.

Amazon.com: Girl in the Blue Coat (9780316260633): Hesse, Monica: Books

1. The Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse

Girl in the Blue Coat is definitely my favorite out of all the books on this list. This historical mystery set during WWII gave me amazing mysteries!
Hanneke spends her days delivering sought after goods from the black market. In the time of war, it's not unusual for a client to ask her to find something. But what Mrs. Jenssen asks her to find is shocking. Hanneke finds goods, not people. Even still, Hanneke is hired to find Mirjam, a missing Jewish girl. Taking this job would risk everything, but not taking it would give her more pain than she already has.

These books gave were so shocking I just had to talk about them! Especially now that we're in October which is the month when I want to read mystery most!
