 Spooky season is over everyone! October is my favorite month of the year so it's sad to see it end. But tonight is Halloween which is always fun! I reviewed so great (spooky!) books this month so let get started in my October wrap-up! Book Reviews The Death Cure  by James Dashner My Rating: Series: The Maze Runner  book 3 This was such a great conclusion to The Maze Runner ! I think James Dashner has the best character deaths. Yadriel has something to prove to his family. As a trans gay boy, his family doesn't believe that he can become a brujo. While trying to summon the spirit of his murdered cousin, Miguel, Yadriel accidentally summons the spirit of Julian, the school's resident bad boy. Yadriel makes a deal to help Julian cross over to the other side. But the more time Yadriel spends with Julian, the less he wants him to leave.  Yadriel was adorable! His family was so sweet and caring! I love him. Julain was so cold and dark at first but the more we saw of him, the more he became like a cute little child. Yadriel and Julian were so cute together! I was shipping them the entire time I was reading! Another character I really enjoyed was Maritza. She wasn't as fun in the beginning but by the end, I loved her!  Cemetery Boys  had a light tone of humor which I wasn't expecting. Julian added a lot of humor throughout the book. The witching season is here everyone! Whether they're busy plotting their wicked schemes or simply or performing a seance, you're sure to love these witches. Today I have five spell-binding books that feature some of my favorite witches. But be careful! These books may just put a spell on you! 5.  Witch Born The first book on this list is  Witch Born  by Nicholas Bowling.  Witch Born  was great and I couldn't put this book down. I instantly fell in love with Alyce.  After months of being locked up, Alyce makes her escape from Bedlam  Asylum.  Witchfinders are hunting her and are on her tail. England is separated by two queens. Before long, she finds herself at the center of this battle for the throne. Only one question burns in Alyce's mind:  What do two powerful queens want with a witch? My Review 4. Hocus Pocus I don't think any witches are iconic as the Sanderson Sisters.  In 1693, the Sanderson sisters were hung because of witchcraft. They said that they would return in 300 years on Holloween night when the Black Flame Candle was lit by a virgin. When Max Dennison moves to Salem, he is despite to impress Allison. When he accidentally releases the three witches, it's up to him, Allison, and his sister Dani to send them back where they belong.      25 years later (in 2018), Max and Allison's daughter Poppy finds herself repeating her parent's mistakes. When she releases the Sanderson sisters, she'll need the help of her friends Travis and Isabella to send them back to Hell.      I'm sure the plot of this book sounded slightly familiar so if you haven't guessed already, this book is based on the 1993 film Hocus Pocus . It was basically the same story, no differences. It was a little slower than the original movie but never the less it was a good book.      As for the sequel, it was kinda a repeat of the fir...

Chess, Emma, and Finn Greystone have a normal life. That is until kids of the same name and age get kidnapped. They even look like the Greystones. Shortly after that, Mrs. Greystone disappears on a suspicious trip for work. Even worse, she might not return at all. With the help of their new friend, Natalie, the Greystone's set out to save their mom and these new strangers.     I didn't love The Strangers . The plot sounded really interesting but the writing wasn't as intriguing. I found this book really slow but there were still some parts that drew me in. I thought The Strangers was a really weird book. It had a sci-fi element but in a weird way. I don't think that this "sci-fi" element was tied into the mystery in a very good way. The chapters rotated from being about Finn, Chess, and Emma. I don't know why the author decided to give each character chapters since it was told in the third person the whole time.      I thought that Finn was a really annoyi...

 I LOVED Scythe . It was so great and morbid and just all-around a five-star book. Now, if your as big of a fan as me, you've would probably want to visit this dystopian world too. But if you were chosen as a scythe? Let's find out what your scythe name be! About Scythe In a world with no hunger, no disease, and no poverty, mankind has figured out how to ever conquer death. There is no hunger. No poverty. No disease. No death. The human race has conquered all of that. In a world with no problems, Scythes have the job of killing people. Rowan and Citra are both apprenticed to a Scythe. Neither one wants to kill for a living, but they have no choice but to accept. They soon learn not only are their more sinister things going on behind the scenes but failure could mean the end of their life. I love Scythe ! I was surprised by how good this book was! The plot kept surprising me over and over again. I thought it would go in one direction than BAM! Something completely unexpected happens. As for the characters, I loved them. I cared so much for all of them (except Goddard- I hate him- but that's not really important right now). There was a very settle romance between Citra and Rowan and I hope I get to see more of that in the next book.  I know that this book was so hyped and I stand by that hype! Am I a little late?
