Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequal by A.W. Jantha

In 1693, the Sanderson sisters were hung because of witchcraft. They said that they would return in 300 years on Holloween night when the Black Flame Candle was lit by a virgin. When Max Dennison moves to Salem, he is despite to impress Allison. When he accidentally releases the three witches, it's up to him, Allison, and his sister Dani to send them back where they belong.
25 years later (in 2018), Max and Allison's daughter Poppy finds herself repeating her parent's mistakes. When she releases the Sanderson sisters, she'll need the help of her friends Travis and Isabella to send them back to Hell.
I'm sure the plot of this book sounded slightly familiar so if you haven't guessed already, this book is based on the 1993 film Hocus Pocus. It was basically the same story, no differences. It was a little slower than the original movie but never the less it was a good book.
As for the sequel, it was kinda a repeat of the first story only with different characters. Poppy wants to impress her crush, accidentally unleashes a coven of witches, has to get rid of them.
I found that in part two, the author was sticking the word "witch" everywhere. Even when it didn't make sense, people were still saying "witch." I
also thought that it was weird that the author would always describe magic as smelling like food. Specifically desserts.
One thing I loved about the second half of the story is that there's a girl/girl romance. I also like that in the first half, the chapter titles were mostly quotes from the Hocus Pocus movie.
