Les Miserables Act 2

Image
I love Les Miserables and since I recently reviewed Sky Without Stars , I think it's the perfect time for some Les Mis  book recs! If you don't know what the story is about you can check out my book recommendations for act 1 . Do You Hear The People Sing? Unbirthday  by Liz Braswell In Unbirthday,  Alice rallies up all the Wonderland natives to rebel against the Queen of Heats. She could have been singing "Do You Hear the People Sing" the whole time and it would have made perfect sense. Synopsis: What if Wonderland was in peril and Alice was very, very late? Alice may not be like every other girl in Kenxford, and she's perfectly fine with that. While her sister may concern herself with boys and rallies, Alice has much more important matters on her hands. Such as Wonderland. Eleven years after visiting the curious land, Alice gets an urgent message from some of its inhabitants. Wonderland is in peril, and Alice is very very late. Javert At The Barricade Sophia...

Annie Get Your Gun

Image
By now I've done a lot of musical recommendation posts but I have to say Annie Get Your Gun  has been the hardest by far! There's No Business Like Show Business Where Dreams Descend  by Janella Angeles     "There's No Business Like Show Business" is the opening song of Annie Get Your Gun  so it's really just an introduction to the characters and the setting.  Where Dreams Descend , show business is something that's constantly coming up. Synopsis: I liked  Where Dreams Descend  a lot! But, it's really no surprise that I liked the book so much though. Like seriously, you can't tell me this book is a "combination of  Moulin Rouge  and  Phantom of the Opera " and expect me not to love it.  Kallia has never left Hellfire House. The place that kept her prisoner for so long made her feel trapped. When she escapes, she finds out about a competition to find the next headliner of the Conquering Circus. When she enters alongside her ...

Frozen

Image
Although Frozen  definitely isn't my favorite Disney movie, the Broadway version has some great songs! I recently reviewed Conceal, Don't Feel  which is one of Disney's Twisted Tales  books. It put such a fun spin on the original film! Do You Want to Build a Snowman A Study in Charlotte  by Brittany Cavallaro Anna and Elsa have the same type of closed-off friendship that Jamie and Charlotte have. While Jamie just wants to be in her life, Charlotte was constantly pushing him away. Synopsis: The last place Jamie Watson wants to be is at Sherringford, a boarding school in Connecticut. However, things seem to get more interesting when he meets Charlotte Holmes, the famous detective's great-great-great-granddaughter. She's not only inherited Sherlock's intelligence but his love of solving crimes too. When a student at Sherringford is suspiciously murdered, blame is instantly placed on Charlotte and Jamie. Together, the two will have to work tirelessly to clear their ...

Be More Chill

Image
Earlier this year, the Be More Chill graphic novel was released! I love this musical so much so it was great to see it in a book format. Now, it has the honor to be included in my books and musical series! More Than Survive Miss. Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs      In "More Than Survive," Jeremy talks about how he just wants to fit in and survive. At the beginning of  Miss. Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children , Jacob feels like he would never be anything more than normal.      Jacob Portman was always told stories of his grandfather's childhood. His stories were full of kids with amazing powers who lived in a big house run by Miss. Peregrine. There were invisible boys and girls who could make fire with their hands in his grandfather's stories. Jacob is convinced that the stories are just fairy tales until his visits the small island his grandfather grew up on.  There he meets the children he grew up hearing stories a...

Wicked

Image
Though I love musicals, I haven't seen very many on stage. I was so lucky to get to see Wicked  not once, but twice! It was such an amazing show that I loved. Even still, after many years, Wicked  remains one of my favorite musicals. No One Mourns the Wicked Dorothy Must Die  by Danielle Paige I can't think of anyone more wicked than Dorothy herself in Dorothy Must Die . Dear Old Shiz We Hunt the Flame  by Hafsah Faizal  I have to be honest, I don't really like "Dear Old Shiz." It's not that long and there's really no point to the song for this one, I'm just going to pick a book I didn't like. For "Dear Old Shiz," I'm picking We Hunt the Flame . I didn't much care for the book. The Wizard and I The Cruel Prince  by Holly Black In "The Wizard and I," Elphaba sings about her dreams of being more than what she is and working with the wizard. This reminds me of how Jude wanted to prove that she was more than mortal and becom...

Dear Evan Hansen

Image
I love the musical Dear Evan Hansen. It’s probably my favorite and I can’t wait for the movie to come out soon. In honor of the musical, here are so Dear Evan Hansen book recs! Anybody Have A Map All for One  by Melissa de la Cruz During All for One,  Eliza tries to navigate motherhood while her husband is busy working just like Hedi and Cynthia. Waving Through A Window Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs In "Waving Through A Window," Evan talks about her feels invisible and this reminds me how Jacob used to feel ordinary and unspecial.  For Forever Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas  This song reminds me of the scene where Yadriel and Julain were driving the car. Sincerely Me The Mall by Megan McCafferty "Sincerely Me" is probably my favorite song in the musical. It's so much fun just like The Mall . Requiem The Year After You  by Nina de Pass "Requiem" is a sad song about mourning. While Zoe refuses to feel sad for ...
