The Evil Queen by Gena Showalter

Image
Everly Morrow grew up in the mortal world. She was always an outsider, hated by everyone but her sister and mother. In the realm of Enchantia, fairytales are prophecies of the future. After one look through a mirror, Everly finds out she destined to the Evil Queen. Everly doesn't want to be evil. But can she resist the temperature, or will she be consumed by power? Words can't even describe how much I loved this book. The Evil Queen gave me a whole new love for reading. I can't even put into words how incredible this book was. I couldn't put this book down for a second. I was hooked from the beginning. I loved, I hated. I laughed, I cried. The Evil Queen was a roller coaster of emotion. The cover of this book is also gorgeous like could there possibly be a better cover for this book? I love all the characters in this book so much! I loved Everly's humor. She said so many things that made me want to burst out laughing. At the same time, there were so many moments w...

March is officially over and spring has sprung! Now that it's April, I'm hoping to read so many good books. My goal for the month is to start reading even more than I already do and get my massive TBR pile under control. Let's hope I can do it! Here are a few books that I recently read. There are so many good ones to take about! Cress  by Marissa Myers Dates read: March 19 - March 24 Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better. Cress and Thorne are such a cute couple and I can't wait to read Winter . Synopsis: Cress has spent her whole life locked in a spaceship, orbiting Earth. After being rescued by Captin Carswell Thorne, their ship crashes in Africa. Meanwhile, Cinder and her crew are preparing to face their next challenge: stopping the royal wedding. Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman Dates read: March 23 - March 27 It's very rare that I find a sequel that is even better than the first book in the series. Thunderhead  ended off on such a huge cli...

Be More Chill: The Graphic Novel by Ned Vizzini

Jeremy Heere couldn't be more than a loser. His hopeless crush on Christine seems to be getting nowhere. Then, Jeremy finds out about the Squip. The Squip is a super-computer pill that will help you be cool and chill. Thinking that it's the only way to make Christine like him, it buys it. But it isn't long until Jeremy discovers that there's a dark side to the Squip. Be More Chill: The Graphic Novel  is based on the Tony-nominated musical of the same name. I am obsessed with this musical so when I found out that there was a graphic novel, I was over the moon with excitement. This graphic novel was amazing in every way- except one. The only thing I didn't like was that Christine was so different than in the musical. On Broadway, Christine was kind of a dork while she seemed really bitchy in the graphic novel. Other than that, Be More Chill  was great! There were so many references to the musical within the book and this is definitely something I would go back and pi...

Would You Win the Fashion House Interview?

Image
I love A Dress for the Wicked . Although it's been months since I read the book, it still remains one of my favorites. And since there are no cult followings for Autumn Krause's books (yet) I thought I would give all you fans a fun quiz to take inspired by A Dress for the Wicked! About A Dress for the Wicked Emmy has always dreamed of designing fashion. She wants to walk the elegant halls of the fashion house, working to influence Avon-upon-Kynt's upper class. Now she might finally get a chance to escape from the small town of Shy. The Fashion House opens it's doors for girls in the country to compete. Emmy soon finds that the city is nothing like she imagined. No one wants her at the fashion house and someone is even trying to sabotage her. But when she meets the charming Tristian, things start to turn around. My full review

A Song Below Water by Bethany C. Morrow

I really wanted to love this book. Like really badly. And in the beginning, I did. I was so invested in the story but after a day, I couldn't find the motivation to pick up this book. A Song Below Water  has an amazing plot and amazing writing but unfortunately, sometimes those two factors aren't strong enough to defeat the terrible disease known as the READING SLUMP! (gasp!) Tavia has to keep her siren identity a secret in a world where they hate her kind. She lives in Portland, Organ where there are only a few other sirens. She at least has Effie, her best friend who she considers a sister. Effie has problems of her own as she struggles with her love life on top of the Renaissance Fair. All that gets pushed aside though when the shocking news of a siren murder comes to their attention. Then the girl's favorite YouTuber also comes out as a siren.     It's okay guys, I'm cured now! Anyway, I chose to DNF A Song Below Water  on page 215 which is really c...
