This month's musical-themed post is Six. Six is a competition between the six wives of King Henry the eight. Cathrine of Aragon, Anne Boyle, Jane Seymore, Anna of Cleves, Kathrine Howard, and Cathrine Parr battle it out to see who was the best queen. It was obviously Kathrine Howard. This post was inspired by The Other Boyle Girl by Philippa Gregory.

Six the Musical Wives 1-3: Historical and Modern Costume ...Ex-wives

The musical starts out with a rivalry between the queens. In the end, they will all love each other. Alex and Eliza start out with a rivalry between Hamilton and Eliza even though by the end they will be madly in love.
Review

No Way

No Way is Cathrine of Aargons main song. In this song, she sings about how Henry will never find anyone like her. Cathrine's personality reminds me of a lot of Cassie's form The Mall. 

Don't Lose Ur Head

Anne Boyle has a rebel kinda feel to her. She lives her life how she wants and doesn't apologize for anything. Her song reminded me of Pride by Ibi Zoboi.

Heart of Stone is Jane Seymore's song. It's all about how she was unbreakable. A character that could identify with this song would be Mare from Red Queen.

Haus of Holbein's

Haus of Holbeins was a very fun song. It didn't really do anything for the plot of the musical but I still liked it. One book that went by quickly was Struck by Lightning. It was short and funny.

Get Down

Anna of Cleves is very strong-willed. Her main thing is that she doesn't need a man. There are not many characters who don't end up with a man by the end of the book so I think Eadlyn would match Anna's personality most. For this song, I'm picking The Hier by Kiera Cass.

From Bettendorf to Broadway: PV alum earns success in theater ...All You Wanna Do

Kathrine Howard is flirty and has been with many different guys during the song. The best book I could think of was The Beholder by Anna Bright. Selah goes through many different guys so this is a pretty good fit!

I Don't Need Your Love

Cathrine Parr is a strong feminist and in this song, she tells the king how she doesn't need his love. In The Selection, America acts this way towards Maxon.

The musical ends with all six queens joining together and celebrating their differences. A book to go along with this song would be

 I got so many new books this month I'm excited to read! About half of the books I got were graphic novels because I've been in a bit of a reading slump lately.
