Another successful reading month! I read 13 books this month which is a record for me. With digital learning ending soon, I'm sure I'll have much more time to read. I posted so much this month and much more fun in coming in June. The Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black Rating: 4 stars The Modern Faerie Tales  had three books in one. I would have given it five stars if book 2 wasn't so boring. My Review Alex & Eliza Rating: 5 stars I loved this book! My Review The Odd 1s Out  by James Rallison Rating: 4 stars The Odd 1s Out was my post for Graphic Novel Wednesday. It includes many stories from the famous YouTube channel, The Odd 1s Out. All the Wrong Questions by Lemony Snicket

Image
Lemony Snicket is a detective and his newest case has stumped him. After being recruited to steal back a priceless object, Lemony finds that things aren't all its cracked up to be. His employer may turn out to be a bad guy hiding and even bigger mystery. And to make it worse, Lemony has been asking all the wrong questions.         All the Wrong Questions  is about Lemony's life before recording the events of the Baudlier children. The book was kind of like a prequel to A Series of Unfortunate Events . Lemony is the only character so far that's in both series.         I like Lemony Snicket's writing style. He'll always take a word or phrase that the reader might not know the meaning of and explain it. He will say something like, "which here means to ___." This is such a noticeable part of Snicket's writing. He used this style in A Series of Unfortunate Events .         Anyway, Snicket included the perfect mix of foreshad...

The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer

Image
For Alex and Conner's twelfth birthday, they receive a book from their grandmother. After the book starts acting weird, the twins find a magic portal in it. They are transported to The Land of Stories where all their favorite childhood fairytales are real. The only way home, however, it the wishing spell. But here's the catch, the wishing spell can only be used twice and it has already been used once before. The twins find it's a race against the clock because the infamous Evil Queen is also after the spell. The Land of Stories  had been my favorite book series since I was in 6th grade and it's what got me really into reading. Chris Colfer has been one of my favorite authors for the last three years. The Land of Stories  is my favorite middle-grade book. I loved this book so much. I will admit that at first, I thought I would hate the book. You see, my mother tried for a year or two to get me to read the book and I didn't want to. Finally, at a book fair in 6th gr...

Which One Of Kiera Cass's Leading Ladies Are You? Let The Tarot Cards Decided!

Image
In honor of The Selection  movie coming out on Netflix, I thought it would be fun to do a tarot card reading to tell us which character we are! How this will work: There will be three cards (face down) in the picture below. Their numbered 1-3 (left to right). Pick one and below will be the same three cards face up. Then I'll explain which card is which character. Pick a card: Here are the same cards turned over: Now I'll explain each card. Card Number 1         The first card is Strength. Strength represents the mastery of emotions. So if you got this card you are undoubtedly Eadlyn. Eadlyn has so many emotions bottled up inside of her during The Heir  and The Crown . She definitely mastered her emotions She has a lot of patience as she goes through her selection process.  Card Number 2         The next card is The Fool. The Fool is often a sign of innocence and spontaneity. Ho...

All for One by Melissa de la Cruz

The Hamiltons have made quite a name for themselves as the new nation of America starts to rise. When they aren't throwing extravagant parties, they invited somewhere else. Eliza had recently taken up an intrest in match-making and she and Alex get to watch as a romance almost as great as their own starts to bud. At the same time, Eliza is pregnant with baby Philp. But Alex's new case threatens to change everything.         This is the conclusion to the Alex & Eliza Trilogy  and oh my god I loved it! The little theatre geek inside of me could not handle the title for chapter 8 (Miss Maria Reynolds Walks Into His Life). I loved this series so much! The Alex & Eliza Trilogy  was beautifully written and thrilling at every turn of the page. I can honestly say that this a new favorite series of mine.         If you do end up reading this series, I would recommend Hamilt on and Peggy  by L.M. Elliott. Page Count: 391 pages (ha...

Spring Cleaning Book Tag

Image
It's been so long since I've done a book tag! I love doing them but it's so hard to find new ones to try! But it's still  quarantine and I have nothing else to do so here's the Spring Cleaning Book Tag! 1. The Struggle to Get Started A book or series to struggle to begin because of its size         A series that I've been really hesitant about starting is the Dorothy Must Die series by Danielle Paige. There are seven books in total and though I'm sure I'll love them all. I wanted to find a time where I could sit down and read all the books. I'm sure I'll be starting the series soon! 2. Cleaning out the Closet A book or series you want to unhaul         The answer came easy for this one. I would unhaul We Hunt the Flame . This has been the only book I DNFed in the last year or two. I wanted to love this book but it was just so slow for me. If you want to see my full thoughts, here's my review.  3. Opening the ...
