War Storm by Victoria Aveyard

After witnessing Cal's stunning betrayal, Mare is determined to protect her heart above all else. With the Lakelander army on his side, Maven's power only seems to be growing. Allied with Norta and Montfort, is finally time for the Scarlet Gaurd to rise red as the dawn and end this war once and for all. I liked War Storm.  It's not my favorite book in the Red Queen series but not my least favorite either. I love that there were so many different POVs. It definitely added to how much I enjoyed the book. I got to read from Mare, Evangeline, Iris, Cal, and Maven's prespective. I think Evangeline's chapters were my favorites. Her romance with a certain character who shall remain nameless ('cuz spoilers) was adorable. I definitely wanted to see more of it and it was much more interesting than the whole Cal and Mare thing. I really enjoyed Maven's two chapters. I wasn't expecting to get to read his perspective, but I love that Victoria Aveyard chose to includ...

My favorite female authors!

Today is Women's Day! I'm here to support my fellow woman by sharing some of my favorite female authors. These girls have all written amazing books and some are seriously unhyped. Happy Women's Day everyone! Jenna Evans Welch     Jenna Evans Welch has been a favorite author of mine for a while now. The Love & Gelato  series is such fun contemporary books but I love how all of them are a little bit more at the same time. I currently own all of her books but the teasers of her next book that she's posted on Instagram have been driving me crazy! I can't wait for it to come out. Her books: Love & Gelato Love & Luck Love & Olives V ictoria Aveyard     Red Queen was one of the first YA books I've read. From the very beginning, I was hooked. It's such a thrilling fantasy series and I couldn't put it down. You can trust that I'm counting down the days for the release of Realm Breaker! Her books: Red Queen Glass Sword King's Cage Serena V...

King's Cage by Victoria Aveyard

Though Mare has been taken captive by King Maven, rebellion still burns in her heart. She can't do much confined in the walls of the palace but watch as Maven desperately tries to defeat the Scarlet Gaurd. Meanwhile, Cal trains with the Scarlet Gaurd as they prepare to take back Norta and help Mare escape Maven's cage.     I like the Red Queen series so much! I really liked that King's Cage was told from three different points of view compared to how the first two books in the series were only from Mare's perspective.      I didn't like Cameron's chapters because they felt slow and a bit boring. I did like how she wouldn't glorify characters such as Mare and Cal who I love so much that I don't even see their flaws anymore. After her chapters, I was so bored that I found it hard to get back into the book and that's the main reason King's Cage got three stars.      My favorite chapters actually came from Evangeline. Before King's Cage , I hated...

Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

Mare Barrow has red blood. But she has silver abilities. There are others like her out there. She now joins forces with the Scarlet Guard. Mare only has days to find the other New Bloods and train them. But Maven is also after the New Bloods. And he will make sure every one of them is dead.     I love Cal! I know in the first book I was totally on team Maven but after seeing more of Cal and Mare, I ship them. Cal cares so much and they are adorable together. Another couple in this book that I'm totally in love with is Farely and Shade! They are such a good match!     I cared so much for the characters in Glass Sword . I found myself cheering on Mare during fight scenes and weeping over other characters. I was also so happy that Mare got to reunite with her family. There are so many emotional moments in this book. Victoria Aveyard is definitely the type of author that will destroy you with character deaths.     One thing that I did notice while re...
