Cress by Marissa Myers

Cress has spent her whole life locked in a spaceship, orbiting Earth. After being rescued by Captin Carswell Thorne, their ship crashes in Africa. Meanwhile, Cinder and her crew are preparing to face their next challenge: stopping the royal wedding. I feel like each book in this series just keeps getting better and better. Each couple becomes my new favorite. Marissa Myers crafted this dystopian world beautifully. Each one has me hooked. I can't wait to read  Winter . I got to see a little bit of Winter in  Cress  and she seemed so sweet.  I love Cress. She was such a cute character. She and Thorne had an adorable relationship which I want to see more of in the next book. There was so much going on in Cress . All of the main characters were in different places and Marissa Myers did this really well. Everything was easy to keep track of and the way all these different storylines come together was beautiful. The Lunar Chronicles  is a perfect series for anyone jus...

Scarlet by Marissa Myers

After escaping from prison, Cinder is on the run, trying to avoid capture as the Lunar Queen hunts her down. Meanwhile somewhere in France Scarlet's mother has recently disappeared. In a desperate attempt to find her, she teams up with the mysterious Wolf. Also, Queen Lavana is threatening war on Earth and if Cinder and Scarlet don't do something she will kill everybody so we also have that problem to deal with. I liked Scarlet  a lot more than I liked the first book in The Lunar Chronicles. I mean, Cinder  was great, I just liked Scarlet's character better. She was really feisty, stubborn, and strong. So like basically the same person as Cinder but like not cyborg. Most of the book was split following Scarlet and Cinder. I think Marissa Myers was able to combine these two storylines really well. I liked Scarlet and Wolf's relationship so much better than Cinder and Kai's. Cinder and Kai felt a little forced. The writing of Scarlet and Wolf's relationship flowe...

Prudence is an overachiever and wants more than just a life in her small coastal town of Fortuna Bay. One day, Pru wakes up to find that she has the power to intact instant karma on anyone she wishes. While Pru is hard at work punishing anyone she pleases, her powers seem to constantly backfire on one person: Quint Erickson. When Pru finds herself working at an animal rescue center, she uncovers the truth of why her powers won't work on Quint and why the rescue seems to be struggling so much. I loved this book so much! It is undoubtedly one of my favorite reads of 2021. I couldn't put this book down because I loved it so much. Instant Karma  was way better than any of Marissa Myers's other books (including The Lunar Chronicles ). I love Quint and Pru. They are such a great couple! Because everyone loves this trope, I'll go ahead and say that this is an enemy to lovers romance. No doubt that this is my favorite enemy to lovers. Pru and Quint initially hated each other an...

Cinder by Marissa Myer

Cinder lives in New Beijing. A deadly disease caused by Lunars is sweeping over the commonwealth. One day, Cinder's stepsister, Peaunie, falls ill. Cinder works as a mechanic and provides her family's main income. When Prince Kai ends up coming to her shop, she's stunned. A romance starts to bud but Cinder is keeping a secret from Kai. If he knew she was a cyborg, he might- he wouldn't love her.  Cinder is a futuristic retelling of the fairytale Cinderella . Cinder  is a dystopian novel set after the fourth world war. There are also people who live on the moon called Lunars. The Lunars are threatening war on Earth so obviously, no one likes them. Like Lunars, cyborgs are hated too. I feel like Marissa Myers never stopped adding to this world. At every turn, there was something new for me to find out. Constantly new things were being revealed and I loved it!  I never knew what was coming next. Like I said before,  Cinder is a Cinderella  retelling and it was obvi...
