Dorothy Must Die Stories Vol. 2 by Danielle Paige

Image
The wizard is gone and now, the Scarecrow is the king of Oz. His crown is soon threatened though when General Jinjur invades the Emerald City. The Scarecrow will have to use all his wits to defeat Oz's new foe. Shortly after, Glinda sends the Lion on a mission to get a necklace that really ends up having no importance. Months later, Dorothy returns and the Tin Woodman falls head over heels for her. Dorothy Must Die Stories Vol. 2  contained three novellas. First off was Heart of Tin  which was about the Tin Woodman. That novella was defiantly my favorite of the three. Tin's crush on Dorothy was adorable and though I knew it would never happen, I wanted them to end up together. Onto the second novella, The Straw King . Obviously, this novella was about the Scarecrow. I thought this one was okay. Alone, this novella would be worthy of three stars. There was some boring moment but for the most part, it was a good book. The last novella was King of the Beasts . I hated this ...

Dorothy Must Die Stories by Danielle Paige

When Dorothy turns sixteen, she returns to Oz. With help from Glinda, she finds herself back in that magical land, this time with her aunt and uncle. When she gets there, however, Dorothy finds that things are different. A strange woman named Ozma is ruling and Glinda is nowhere to be found. Shortly after, Jellia, one of Dorothy's maids, is whisked off to Glinda's summer palace. She finds out that Glinda a Dorothy are planning sinister things for Oz. Ar the same time, the Wizard returns.  Dorothy Must Die Stories was a bundle of the first three novellas in the Dorothy Must Die series. In this collection is Return to Oz, The Witch Must Burn , and The Wizard returns.  My favorite of the three novellas was undoubtedly Return to Oz .  I liked Dorothy and Jellia's POV so much better than I liked Amy's from the original series. I think that Amy was so annoying compared to Dorothy was a bit of a brat but I was able to look past that.  I liked the first two novellas more tha...

The End of Oz by Danielle Paige

I know I said this last time, but it's finally time for Dorothy to die. Also, we gotta defeat the Nome King who just kinda showed up outta nowhere. Also, Amy and Nox have some relationship problems to work out. Madison (remember that girl who was only present for like two pages in the very beginning of the first book?) is also there.     The Dorothy Must Die series comes to an exciting close with the fourth and final novel of the series. Like the last book, Amy was so FREAKING ANNOYING! Like to the point where I really wish she wasn't the  one narrating this book,      The End of Oz  switched between Dorothys and Amy's POV. I loved getting to see what was going on with Dorothy. Despite the way she's described by Amy, she is so much more chill and bearable than Amy. Is it bad that I like the villain better?     I had a really hard time picking this book up. It felt really long and the plot really wasn't going anywhere. I like I said in my revi...

Yellow Brick War by Danielle Paige

Amy has finally ( finally ) gathered all the things she needs to kill Dorothy. Now she is ready to kill Dorothy. But SURPRISE she has a new challenge to overcome. Amy and the witches are back in Kansas and to get to Oz, Amy will have to find Dorothy's magic shoes. Surprise number two: there might be a dangerous new villain to fight too! (GASP)     First off, Amy is so annoying Like soooo annoying. Her relationship with Nox is up and down. Up and down. UP AND DOWN. Amy gets mad over the tiniest things. NOX HAS A LIFE TOO! But this girl just thinks she's the only thing in the universe that matters. She's not the only character but still.      Now we got this new villain showing up in Oz but if you ask me, it's completely unneeded. Dorothy just could have died in this book and everything should have ended there. It would have been much better.     Now, this isn't really that important but I wish the spine of this book was yellow. Each book has a different...

The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige

Image
As Amy watches the Emerald City burns down, she knows that it's time for the wicked to rise. She has the Tin Woodman's heart but before she can kill Dorothy, she must take the Lion's courage and the Scarcows brain. The members of the Order are missing and now Amy is stuck with Ozma.     For most of the book, Amy and Ozma were following the Yellow Brick Road to some castle that really didn't hold any importance. The other half of the book was spent thinking about Nox and babysitting some ditzy princess.     I didn't love The Wicked Will Rise as much as I love Dorothy Must Die , but it was still a good book. It was really short compared to the first book in the series and felt a little rushed.     There was so much character development for Peter and Ozma in this book. And I love Pete! Like Dorothy Must Die , The Wicked Will Rise  ended with a huge cliffhanger. I have no idea where the plot is going since it seems to change every hundred pages or somethi...

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

Dorothy thought she saved Oz. But she was just the beginning of all their problems. After Dorothy found a way back to Oz, she's been ruling the magical land with an iron fist. She's not the girl from Kansas everyone thought she was. Amy Gumm is the other girl from Kansas. After being recruited by the Order of the Wicked, Amy is going to save Oz. But to do that, Dorthy must die.      Oh my gosh, why did it take me so long to read this book? I LOVED it! Amy was great! She had an adorable romance with Nox that I hope to see more of.      Dorothy Must Die also ended off on a massive cliffhanger. I need to read the sequel ASAP! I couldn't put this book down. It was so exciting and at every turn, I was waiting and waiting for Amy to finally kill Dorothy.     Danielle Paige turned the original story of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz  upside down in this thrilling novel. The good witches were bad, Dorothy couldn't be trusted, her loveable friends were al...
