5 Books On My Wishlist

 Christmas is in just a few days so I thought I'd share some books that I'm hoping to get this year. 

5. Unbirthday by Liz Braswell

What if Wonderland was in peril and Alice was very, very late? Alice is different from the other ladies in Kexford. And that couldn't bother her any less. She runs around town taking photos but when she develops the photos, she starts to see familiar faces in them. The Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and more from Wonderland. And one of the photos even asks for her help. She only has a short while to stop the Queen of Hearts and save both Wonderland and her world. 

4. My Calamity Jane by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, & Brodi Ashton

The year is 1876. America's Wild West is bursting with gunslingers, cowboys, and outlaws. Jane is part of Wild Bill's Traveling Show. Frank "the Pistol Prince" Butler is one of the best sharp-shooters there are. And Annie Oakley is slowly falling for Frank (though she won't admit it). After a garou hunt goes wrong, Jane finds a strange bite on her arm. Soon, the trio has to find Jane a cure and escape the west.

3. Verona Comics by Jennifer Dugan

Jubilee is an elite cellist and works part-time at her stepmom's small comic shop. She's busy preparing for the biggest audition of her life. Ridley has been nothing but a disappointment to his parents who own the biggest comice shop chain in the country. When the two meet at a comic convention, they can't help falling for each other. Too bad their parents or mortal enemies. So they'll be forced to keep their relationship secret.

2. Sadie by Courtney Summers

A missing girl on a journey of revenge. A Serial- like podcast following the clues she's left behind. And an ending you won't be able to stop talking about.

1. Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles

In a city covered in ice, a group of magicians face off in a daring game of magic feats to find the next headliner of the Conquering Circus. They soon come to find that danger lurks behind every corner.  Kallia is a powerful showgirl who wants to prove that she's the best. Jack is the keeper of the club while Demarco is the judge with a past that he can't hide from.

    Those are some books that I'm dying to read. Of course, there are many more books on my wishlist but if I included them all, this post would drag on forever! Happy holidays everyone!

Fairest of All by Serena Valentino

Page Count: 250 pages (Hardcover) Published: August 18, 2009 My Rating: 4 stars Series: Villians book 1 Genre: Fantasy   While she may seem like a jealous queen after a young girl's beauty, she is so much more. They may have been logic and heartache behind the Queen's attempts on the sweet girl's life. The Queen struggles with her looks and the trauma from her childhood helps her accept the fact that she must become the fairest of them all.    This is definitely my favorite version of Snow White! From the Queen's early days as a child to her last moments, Serena Valentino took this seemingly innocent fairy tale and turned it into something dark and twisted. This is by far the most heartbreaking story of Snow White ever. At the same time, this book has enough plot twists to keep any reader entertained. Bloom by Kevin Panetta

 Ari can't wait to move to Baltimore with his friends. He wants nothing more than to get out of his small seaside town. If only his dad would let him quit his job at the family bakery. While interviewing possible candidates, Ari meets Hector, an easy-going guy who loves baking. As the two work together in the bakery, love starts to bloom. Bloom was an adorable graphic novel. Also, the art in this graphic novel was great! If you looking for two soft boys falling in love, look no farther than Bloom.  Ari absolutely stole my heart away! He was so cute. Ari and Hector were made for each other. They had such a cute, fluffy romance. Both of the main characters were flawed in a way that was... different from other books. Does that make sense? I liked that they never really "fixed" their flaws. They embraced what was wrong with each other. Apart, Hector and Ari were complete messes.
