In honor of  The Mall , we're going back to the 90s to visit 5 stores I wish were still around today. Most of these stores could have been found in the mall back in the 90s. The majority of them closed in the early 2010s. 5. Imaginarium I've heard a lot about Imaginarium over the years. It was a toy store that specialized in crafts, arts, and toys that sparked imagination. This sounds like a place my eight-year-old self would love. Imaginarium closed in 2003. 4. The Nature Compony The Nature Compony was a store that sold different types of rocks or crystals. This seemed like a really cool store but it closed in 2010. 3. Blockbuster Blockbuster was a store full of movies. It also introduced several classics such as Ghost Busters and Jaws. Blockbuster closed in 2013 2. The Mall by Megan McCafferty was so much fun to read and I loved it! Just like my previous playlists, I found seven songs to go along with this book. Since  The Mall  is set in 1991 and the main character works at a fashion boutique, I thought it would be fun to create a quiz to see what 90s fashion trends we have. About The Mall Cassie just got dumped by her boyfriend. And now the plan is going down the drain. On top of that, she loses her job at Americas Best Cookie. But after being reunited with an old friend, Cassie sets off on a treasure hunt around the mall. Things are turning around for Cassie Worthy- especially after she meets Sam Goody. 

The summer of '91 is turning out to be the worst yet. After getting over Mono, Cassie is dumped by her boyfriend, fired from her job, and her parents are getting a divorce. She has a few months to spare before she runs off to Barnard College and starts the future she's always planned for- except she no longer has the plan  which went away with her ex. Cassie gets hired at Bellarosa Boutique and things start to look up. Soon she and her friend Drea are on the hunt of the summer for a mysterious treasure.         The synopsis of the book said nothing about the treasure hut which was really the main focus of the book. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this contemporary turned into a bit of a mystery. I think the book would have attracted me more from the start if it mentioned the treasure in the synopsis.         I liked The Mall  a lot but there's one thing that annoyed me so much.   OH MY GOSH! I THINK THIS MIGHT BE MY MOST SUCCESSFUL HAUL YET! Ok, so you can kinda tell I might be excited by some of the books (more like all!) and you might be thinking geez Abby, why are you so excited? Well, I will explain that to you in a moment, but first a moment of seriousness. So the book club is changing the day we meet (kind of). So what happened was there a lot of kids now and the teenager (including me) will start going on the second Wednesday of every month. But that's not all. Every other month, the teens will be going on the first Wednesday and its kind of confusing. The only thing that this will change is the day that I post the haul list. This will not affect Graphic Novel Wednesday which is a series of posts that I'm starting this month (More information about GNW on the page for it in the sidebar.)
