The Scorch Trails by James Dashner

If you thought solving the maze was the end, you were wrong. WICKED has new plans for the Gladers. Phase two has begun and the Gladers find that they have the Flare. The only way to survive is to cross the desert and make it to a safe haven. They only have two weeks to do it. The odds seem to be against them though as WICKED plays with their feelings, friendships, and even their own thoughts. It will take determination and strong will to survive the Scorch.
So I'm going to put out a quick disclaimer saying that THIS BOOK WILL CRUSH YOUR SOUL! I loved this book. Like The Maze Runner, I listened to the audiobook. The Scorch Trials was just as amazing as it's predecessor. In this book, the Gladers have to cross the Scorch which was a huge dessert.
There's so much more drama in this book as a small love triangle forms. A whole new band of characters is introduced too.
Some of the characters were annoying (i.e. Brenda and Teresa). The Scorch Trials wasn't as suspenseful as The Maze Runner which was kinda disappointing. The book was nd emotional roller coaster. The Maze Runner is a great series that I would definitely recommend.
